1. Purpose of the Document
This annex aims to identify the priority data types handled by the National Information Center. It serves strategic planning purposes, resource allocation, and the development of a digital implementation roadmap aligned with Article (4) of the Center’s regulations. It reflects the actual impact of each type of data in achieving the Center’s developmental and scientific goals.
2. Strategic Prioritization of Data Types:

- Datasets resulting from experiments and scientific studies.
- Raw and structured data from research projects.
- Field measurements and experimental data.
- Survey and investigative research data.
- Computational models and scientific simulations.
- Outputs of funded scientific and research projects.
2. Statistical and Analytical Data:
- Number of research projects implemented annually.
- Scientific research funding by sector.
- Expenditure on Research and Development (R&D).
- Collaboration rates between universities and the private sector in innovation.
- Scientific publications and patents data.
3. institutional and Regulatory Data:
- National policies for research and innovation.
- Laws and regulations governing higher education and scientific research.
- Administrative structures and governance of research institutions.
- Open data policies and information security regulations.
4. National and International Indicators:
- Jordan's ranking in the Global Innovation Index (GII).
- Higher education and research quality indicators.
- Technology transfer and international research collaboration indicators.
- Innovation indicators and Jordan’s global positioning.
5. Qualitative and Spatial Databases:
- Geographical maps of research centers and scientific institutions.
- Databases of Jordanian researchers and scientists inside and outside the country.
- Data on research laboratories and technical facilities.
- Distribution of research programs by region.
- Support for developing geospatial information systems (GIS).
6. Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship Data:
- Number of startups based on innovation.

3. Recommendations and Implementation Notes
It is recommended to adopt this categorization as an operational scope for the types of data the Center is authorized to collect under Article (4/a), with periodic updates reflecting developments in science, technology, and innovation in Jordan.
It is also recommended to use this prioritization as a foundational reference in designing projects and initiatives, building databases, developing digital infrastructure, and integrating national institutional analytical systems, to enhance the effectiveness and integration of data in serving knowledge-driven, economic, and social development goals.
